How we tell you about results that need prompt action.

Critical results

When a result is far enough outside the normal range to need prompt clinical attention, our team will phone your clinic as well as releasing the report. We call the phone number we have on file for your clinic. Out of hours, we call your on-call clinician on the number you've given us.

Make sure we always have a phone number that's answered during your opening hours, and an out-of-hours contact if you have one. Contact us to update these.

Flagged results

In the portal, unopened critical reports are counted under Critical Reports at the top of your Dashboard, they appear under the Critical filter, and you'll get a notification.

Results outside the reference range but not critical are flagged on the report. They don't trigger a phone call, so check flagged results promptly.

Your responsibility

The clinician who requested the tests is responsible for reviewing results and acting on them, including contacting the patient. Our results app explains results to patients in plain language, but it doesn't diagnose or replace your advice.
